The impressive three-story Wiedersprecker-Eitzen Store was built in 1861 on Hermann's Wharf Street as a center of commerce for the steamboat men who plied their trade along the Missouri River.
Today, each floor is a spacious, totally private guest apartment, filled with pleasant reminders of the past. Wide plank floors, exposed brick walls and pressed tin ceilings evoke a sense of history, while original paintings, antique furnishings, oddments and memorabilia tell the story of local artist Alice Jacobson, who made her home here for two decades.
With the riverfront at your doorstep, Wharf Street is an easy stroll from the Amtrak station, [trains run at all hours] restaurants, shops, a winery and many other Hermann attractions. We invite you to gather memories of your own as you enjoy a truly original stay in historic Hermann.
